Last month, I described the Q! Hotel in Berlin, visited by none other than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. But there are other places to be seen in the German capital: the newly opened Lux 11 in the Mitte district offers compact, ultra-modern rooms (or ‘apartments’ as they refer to them), tastefully decorated in cream, complete with their own kitchens (although a restaurant is expected later this year); the recently re-opened, chic Mandala Hotel (formerly the Madison Potsdamer Platz hotel) with its 166 suites, and Ku ‘Damm 101, Berlin’s answer to luxury accommodation with a touch of urban style. The 20 metre swimming pool is housed in the bank’s Jewellery Room and is decorated with brilliant gold mosaic tiles to represent the many jewels that were once stored there. * Hollywood stars Sharon Stone and Matt Damon stayed at the hotel at the recent Berlinale Film Festival.” A Luxury Travel Blog ★★★★★ » Quirky facts about Rocco Forte Hotels
