Berlin’s once tragically hip Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood has passed the torch to the uber-trendy Mitte district. Many of the artists and hipsterati have moved east, and PB is now more well known for high birth rates and yuppies than cutting- edge art houses and nightclubs. However, we still have a thing for Prenzlauer and its bevy of faux-hawked toddlers and tatted-up young mommas. The area still has more cool pubs, shops, and eateries than most other Berlin realms, and holds a special place in history for its lightning transformation from punk holdout to hip GDR art center to yuppified playground. In honor of this history and with bountiful hopes for the future, here are our suggestions for a first-time visitor to Prenzlauer Berg. (via Berlin: Beginner’s Guide to Prenzlauer Berg)
